You can often find Dave walking on the beach with his wife or Stand-Up Paddle boarding in the ocean. Lastly, Dave is the Senior Chaplain for the Orange County Fire Authority.
ASSOCIATE PASTOR
Jake serves as our full-time, Associate Pastor. He grew up in a Christian household and professed faith as a young child but didn’t understand the depth of trusting in Christ alone for salvation until his senior year of high school.
Jake and his wife, Jess, met at Biola University where they both earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministries. They have been married for 4 years and absolutely LOVE living by the beach. You can catch them grabbing a coffee and walking the San Clemente beach trails. By God’s amazing grace, Jake and Jess welcomed their son, Levi, into the world in the fall of 2024.
Jake has a passion for equipping others to know how deeply loved they are in Christ. He recently earned a Master’s Degree in Christian Apologetics from Talbot School of Theology. He longs to see others be completely transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Winston Wardwell
FAMILY PASTOR
Winston Wardwell is a San Clemente local and is passionate about sharing the truth and love of Jesus with the community. Winston has been a pastor at a local discipleship ministry for men, known as Joshua House, since 2020, and completed his MA in Theology, from Fuller Theological Seminary, in 2022.
He met his wife, Kristen, serving in Junior High Ministry, when she served as a Junior High Pastor. They got married at the beginning of 2019. They became members of Cornerstone Community Church in 2022 when they decided to attend church with their brothers from Joshua House.
Over the years, they grew in relationships and service which led to the opportunity and calling for Winston to join the staff as of 2024. Kristen and Winston also serve children and youth through New Dawn Communities, R12, and foster parenting. Outside of ministry, they enjoy spending time with family and friends, pickleball, snowboarding, the gym, and taking their dog, Lee, for walks.
MUSIC DIRECTOR
Dave Turner is our Worship Director. He has always had a love for music. He enjoys using his gifts to glorify Jesus.
Dave and his wife Jill have been married for 26 years. They have 3 sons Jakob(23), Luke(20), and Isaiah(9). All three boys share in the love of music. Jakob and Luke love playing at Cornerstone with the worship team. Someday soon Isaiah is looking forward to joining them.
Dave has a passion for mentoring other musicians and walking alongside them as they worship God together. Dave spent 37 years working as a television video journalist and editor. He currently has his own business editing videos for small businesses and ministries. In his free time, he likes spending time with his family outdoors and watching his sons sporting events.
YOUTH DIRECTOR
OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
Rob & Mary and their children, Lauren, Emily & Michael, started attending Cornerstone in 2005. Their two older daughters came to Cornerstone’s Youth Group a couple of years earlier where many of their homeschooled friends attended. Because of the many relationships built through homeschooling, the family started attending here when the need arose to find a new church. They’ve been blessed with many lifelong friendships since!
Mary started serving in the sound booth doing slide projection within the first year, which she has continued doing to this day. When her son started high school, Mary was in a position for part-time work just as the Office Administrator position opened up in 2013. She loves being able to help people get the information needed to become involved in our Church.
