Read Acts 2:43-47 You have: Giftedness, Abilities, Passion – empowered by the Holy Spirit – just as the early church did, bestowed to be exercised in Generous Giving and Serving to meet Eternal Priorities.

Read 1 Cor 12:1-11 … Here are some basic truths about Spiritual Gifts:

There are Different spiritual gifts, but the same God (v. 4-6) … The true God – is unified and all the various spiritual powers He has given to the apostles and to the Church may appear different but, unlike pagan religions, they are all from Yahweh, through the Holy Spirit and through Jesus Christ, who equips His church… subtle reference to Triune God (Trinity).

The Spiritual gifts are given for the common good (v. 7-10) … God’s Spirit is always with us, but a tangible presentation of God’s Spirit in our world is the spiritual gifts He has empowered Christians to serve in – the world can literally see God working because of what you do for Him!  Paul is reminding the Corinthian Christians that God has given the gift for the building up of the common good, not for personal glorification or financial gain.

The Spiritual gifts given at God’s choosing (v. 11) … The diversity of spiritual gifts is God’s idea and it’s at His direction that you received the spiritual empowerment you have … to accomplish the work He created you to do (Eph 2:10).

If you are:

Missing GIFTEDNESS in your service… you will experience FRUSTRATION

Missing ABILITIES in your service … you will experience INEFFECTIVENESS

Missing PASSION in your service … you will experience BOREDOM
